USA PRO CHALLENGE WANTS YOU TO VOLUNTEER AND BE PART OF AMERICA'S RACE AUGUST 17-23, 2015
DENVER (June 11, 2015) - The success of the USA Pro Challenge is greatly dependent on the support of enthusiastic volunteers over the course of the event which will travel through some of Colorado's most mountainous regions August 17-23. Cycling fans and enthusiasts alike are encouraged to take part in making it all happen by signing up for volunteer positions along the 604 mile course, which winds it's way through Steamboat Springs, Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, Aspen, Breckenridge, Loveland, Fort Collins, Golden and Denver.
Since the inception of the race, volunteers in communities throughout the state have helped to create a seamless and successful event that continues to be the single largest sporting event in the state of Colorado; last year the race had over 3,000 extra pairs of helping hands. Again this year, each of the host cities will feature hundreds of local volunteers recruited to help staff America's Race.
Volunteers looking for an opportunity to participate in the race can apply online for positions at www.prochallenge.com/volunteer. The majority of volunteers are needed to serve as assistant course marshals, providing support to the professional course marshals that travel with the Tour and local law enforcement in each host city. Volunteers selected as course marshals will have the unique opportunity to be present on the race route, in close proximity to the cyclists, and are tasked with monitoring pedestrian traffic, street closures and barricades.
"The entire race is a community effort and we are indebted to all of the volunteers and course marshals who help make it a safe and successful event," said Shawn Hunter, CEO of the USA Pro Challenge.
All volunteers must be over the age of 18 or accompanied by an adult. Group registrations are also available. All volunteers will receive a commemorative USA Pro Challenge t-shirt in addition to a front row seat to experience the excitement of the race. Volunteers are welcome to sign up for multiple stages during race week, however are not eligible to work multiple locations/cities within the same day.
